The Latest Trend: Designer Ceiling Tiles

Ceiling tiles have gotten a makeover and are now one of the hottest design trends for any room in the house. Add the dramatic look of a coffered ceiling, create warmth and beauty with natural-looking wood ceiling planks or give your room a timeless classic appeal with a tin ceiling. Decorative ceiling tiles from Armstrong, now available at Choice, give you the ability to add interest to your rooms by turning your ceiling into a “fifth wall.”

Wood-plank-ceilingIf you’re interested in a more custom look for your ceiling, many tiles are paintable to match any décor. This is an excellent option for covering damaged walls or popcorn ceilings.

And, you don’t have to limit your tiles to ceilings. Homeowners are now using ceiling tiles for kitchen backsplashes, especially tiles with a metallic finish. Armstrong’s Metallaire line comes in sizes specifically for backplashes or walls. The tiles are made with beautiful 19th century historic patterns and use real metal (that won’t rust).

Get creative with the extra ceiling tiles from your home improvement project and use them for crafts and home décor. Keep in mind that most decorative tiles are easy to cut, so they can be trimmed for a variety of purposes.

  • Position four to six 12” x 12” tiles in a grid, with a couple of inches between each one, over your sofa, for a decorative piece of wall art. Tip: Vary the types and patterns of the tiles for more interest. Tin-backsplash1
  • Create a one-of-a-kind headboard by painting a 2” border on the wall behind your bed, then insert the ceiling tiles inside the painted border (with no gaps between tiles). Tip: Before adding the tiles, consider painting them a bold color for a dramatic effect.
  • Use the ceiling tiles as a stylish way to cover up the scuffs and shoe marks on your kitchen island bar. Tip: Paint them to match your existing color scheme or use tin/metallic tiles for added interest.
  • Cover a wooden crate to make a unique magazine holder—a fun project for teens!

It was amazing from start to finish. We had Brian Sheehe out to give an estimate to replace 4 drafty wooden windows with vinyl ones and to replace two very old wooden entry doors. The project scope included widening our front door from 30" to 36," installing a new header and patching the interior plaster with drywall and mud.Estimate went great, no pressure, and he listened to what we wanted and needed. Choice was the only company of the three places we contacted who would widen the front door, and Choice came in with the lowest estimate at around $5000 (in 2016). They also were the only ones who would allow me to paint my new doors without voiding the warranty. They came out with a crew of at least 4 people on a day when snow was expected in the afternoon, and they called in an extra person to finish all the work in a little more than half a day before the snow came. I'm still not exactly sure how they installed the new header and front door, new trim molding, patched the the drywall above the front door, mudded, and sanded it smooth all within a half a day but they did and all I needed to do was touch up the paint in that area - you cannot even tell where the edges are, it was that smooth.Everything has continued to work great over the last 4 years since installation in Feb 2016. It was so great to work with people who cared about my house like I do, and I will be calling them again with future projects.

My uncle found you online and suggested you to my grandparents. They are thrilled with the work you did and would recommend you to anyone asking for a good door repair service. They just got their bill in the mail and were relieved to see it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. 10/10 would recommend.
